ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
A graduate of Birmingham Conservatoire, Rik studied with international guitarists Craig Ogden and Simon Dinnigan, and composers Andrew Downes and John Mayor.

With a strong background as a Classical Guitarist, he has always played more popular styles too. Never being able to work out which style is 'truly him', he woke up one day and decided that they all were!

Hence the recording of this album - 'Worlds of the Guitar', combining both Classical and Fingerstyle technique to explore the amazing diversity of the instrument; with styles from Classical, Folk, Celtic, Country, Blues, Jazz, World Music to New Age. Both the album and the show of the same name feature his own compositions.

A former 'Young Musician of the Year' contestant, Rik has performed in Japan, Malaysia, Morocco, Germany, Poland, throughout the UK, and he is one of the few British Musicians to have been invited to perform in Belarus, in 2010.

In addition to performing, Rik runs his own music school in Cheshire, UK - Poynton Music School.
