Album Notes
I was born and raised in Washington, D.C. and grew up singing and playing various instruments including the violin, saxophone, piano and guitar. I joined my first band in high school and within two years we had our first song distributed on a compilation CD. (Keep in mind this is 1988). The next step was to do it myself, so I began writing, producing and recording my own material as well as others.

September, 1994, several bands, lots of gigs and many recording projects later, I moved to Salt Lake City, Utah. I continued working on my music while playing guitar, bass guitar and singing in cover bands.

In the spring of 1996, I decided to try acting. I took my first class at the University of Utah and was soon being cast in commercials and independent features including "Blue Ridge Fall" and "The Right Temptation". In the fall of 1999, I landed my first lead role in the made for T.V. movie, "Baby Bedlam". In March of 2000, it was "Message in a Cell Phone".

While all this was going on, I was developing a pair of songs that would become the CD single, "I'm Just A Man". Yes, I was still playing and singing in bands, but ready to do my own thing. The CD was finished in April of 2000 and actually got a little play on Star-102.7, Rock-99 and B-98.7. (Thanks to all three morning shows for the opportunity.) I was also featured on Fox-13.

My good fortune continued in May when I scored a starring role in the feature film "Green Diggity Dog". The movie won the audience choice award at the 2001 Slamdunk Film Festival in Park City, Utah.

After filming wrapped, I took advantage of a great opportunity to work crew on the show "Touched by an Angel". It turned into three seasons of long days, nights and weekends. The money was good, but it didn't allow much time for anything else. The final episode was shot in March, 2003 and by June, I was studying acting and taking a songwriting class in Hollywood, California. A few months later, I was given a small part in a feature film called, "States Evidence".

"And what a hunk o' man he is. Actor-musician Stephen Rippey's two-song CD single is so commercially solid and instantly grabbing, you've gotta wonder, where's the album?"
