ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Sisters Leah and Chloe tear into sound with sensual prowess as stages ignite revolutions and words light up spirit fires. Filthy Dirty South is Rising Appalachia's 5th album to date, recorded mostly live at the lovely Echo Mountain Studios in Asheville, NC. The album is raw and polished at once, full of world beat vocals mixed effortlessly with a steady pulse of percussive prowess, bass nectar, and folk instrumentation. Listen closely to their beautiful sound for poetic harmonies, soul singing, spoken word rallies, banjos, fiddles, kalimbas, washboard rants, groove, and community building through SOUNd. Rising Appalachia has sculpted a path for the new generation of music aficionados and created a unique lens to understand the impact of global sound on the world at large. Having been raised in the American South with soul music for breakfast and Appalachian lullabies at night, sisters Leah and Chloe have drawn great inspiration from Appalachia to New Orleans and beyond.

Rising Appalachia embodies the musical essence of family and roots while ever pursuing the artists role of self-expression, defiance, and bridge building through song.
