Album Notes
For many years, in parallel to her academic and vocalist career, Rita composes and goes from door to door to offer her music. Nothing happens. She does not depart from her path. Determined, she bides her time. She is less interested in obtaining the approval of others than being self-fulfilling and true to herself. She wants to live the birth of his inner music, the one that lives in it, where her roots are, her spices and originality, her openness to the world.

She's been thinking for a long time that Jean Massicotte and François Lalonde, Lhasa de Sela's great magicians, may assist her in her take off. This may be a pipe dream, but she believes in it. They have heard her. Massicotte tells Rita : « Oh, My God ! What you do is so beautiful ! ». The long-awaited encounter has finally taken place. The spark has been lit. Jean Massicotte and François Lalonde are the producers of her first solo piece of work, an EP-album called Peregrina (Pilgrim).

Rita is characterized by a genuine sense of justice, she is a politically conscious woman who fights against political, social and racial injustice. She is a generous person and dedicated mother.

Rita is at the dawn of her solo career. Her voice has the nocturnal beauty of velvet, the softness of silk, the depth of creeds and prayers, the poetry of a painting of Chagall. It is a feminine, intense experience. The songs she is offering today are as beautiful as she is, they emanate from her, they are the flowers of her tree, these songs are pure songbirds that cause tingles and chills.
