Album Notes
This is the ballad mate for Robert Louis Stevenson's 'Winter's Tale' know as The Master of Ballantrae which highlights the plight of the female character whom RLS was criticized as not having writings that gave women a voice. This composer knows that through his silences for Alison, the settings and storyline reveal his deep awareness of the struggles of women. This piece was conceived of when the composer lived in Saranac Lake for experience and research because of her spiritual connection with RLS.
