ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Steamy torch, soulful blues, playful jazz and upbeat country. Vintage songs and original compositions
without boundaries of genre or mood.

The freedom is in the music - Unbridled spirit is the essence of this album!

Some fun notes from Riva:

"Hoofbeat Blues" trotted into my head one evening while riding through the woods and I scrawled the lyrics down on my bandanna then and there.

"One Dream Stand" is a whimsical ballad about a woman who has had a beautiful dream about a forbidden lover, but rues the fact that it was nothing more than a one-dream stand.

The country tune "The Boots Are Standin' Empty" was based on real-life events (sort of) with playful hints of humor.

I like to take on the character in a song, as in "Scotch & Soda" where she is feeling pleasantly tipsy from being in love.

I am grateful to have worked on this album with the sensitive and powerful instrumentals of Pat Kelley, David Wise, Alexandra Caselli, Ruben Ramos and other dedicated musicians.

Thanks for lending me your ears!
Riva
