Album Notes
With guitar-centered rock, heavy drum beats, driving bass, solos that take you back to past virtuosos, and melodies that stay in your ears, Ontario, California based guitarist-singer-songwriter Robb Jason Aleman plays rock music in its purest form. This is a result of his primary influences; groups like Led Zeppelin, Cream, and Bad Company, and rock roots like the Blues. “My music’s been called classic rock, 90s rock; to me it’s just rock. It’s not laced with alternative, punk, or rap, it’s straightforward rock, just like it was in the 60s and 70s.”

He connects us to with his lyrics as they express human emotions to which we all can relate. “My lyrics have been my main emotional vent over the years, especially as I’ve struggled to figure things out in life. I’m sure other people have some of those same feelings.”

In December 2005 Robb produced his first record, a six song EP entitled “Just an Ember.” It has been a long time coming, as he also completed a bachelors degree in music business along the way.

After several bands and collaborations, all of which fell apart due to constant personnel changes or lack of commitment on the part of others involved, Robb decided he needed to go on his own to further his music career. “Just an Ember” is a collection of some of the music written along the way, going back to the earliest of these bands and as recent as a song written just last summer.

As a solo act, Robb prefers to refer to himself as a “guitarist-singer-songwriter.” “When I think of a ‘singer-songwriter,’ it’s someone who often only plays acoustic guitar and they play just well enough to write good songs and accompany themselves while they sing. I’m primarily an electric/lead guitarist and my sound goes beyond just an acoustic guitar. Even though I will do live acoustic sets to promote my music, my CD is an example of the music I would do if I did have a band. I’m working on a way to give a live performance that is more like the essence of what is on my CD.”

“Just an Ember” is just the beginning for Robb. He has begun work on a full length CD which he hopes to complete by the end of 2006.
