Album Notes
Recorded at Blue Rock Artist Ranch and Studio in Wimberely, Texas, the disc’s eleven songs feature: Cindy Cashdollar on dobro and steel guitar (Rod Stewart, Van Morrison, Ryan Adams, Bob Dylan, Asleep at the Wheel); Billy Crockett on mandolin and piano. Chris Maresh on basses; Rick Richards on percussion (Ray Wylie Hubbard); and Dirje Smith on cello.Cameos from Jonathan Byrd. Pierce Pettis, and Kim Richardson.

Always a late bloomer, in a time when most folks are thinking about retirement,
Rj found the courage to change her life. After years of building a career in health care (and writing/playing music on the side) she decided to focus on making music full time. Rj’s been making up for lost time ever since by racking up some major songwriting awards (Kerrville Folk Festival New Folk, Mountain Stage NewSong, Wild Flower Music and Arts Festival) and continues to impress, gathering new fans at venues and house concerts across the country.
She is touring in support of “In This Light” throughout 2011.

Shine On!
One of my favorite CD's of 2011, RJ Cowdery has an excellent voice and an even more excellent ability to say something. This CD is wonderful from the opening song, In This Light, to its final track, Whiskey. RJ is a shrewd observer of human nature and the relationships we forge. She writes songs that are easy to listen to. The melodies are often infectious, but I like her more for her vision. If you like modern "folk" music, you should own this CD.
