ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
A note from the Producer…

It’s been great fun “being” the Roadhouse Sons, but none of this would have happened without some help. Of course, the inspiration from J. H. Sanderson’s great novels* - a cover band as spies?? - got us off right away! Making the music part of this adventure, I hijacked my old band mates from “Studebaker Hawk” – David Costa, Phil Hoefs and Stephen Smith – to “put the band back together,” and we get to do live shows as well as all the recording, and have a blast doing it!

"Roadhouse Sons: Renegade “Buried Treasure” " was interesting in that it had to be a basement tape recorded in the novel's protagonist Cameron’s house, so instead of resorting to our trusty fully-loaded professional studio, we actually recorded it in my office, and I think it sounds pretty cool… We even left in some mistakes… Thanks, Guys!

Special thanks to Mia Moravis, the one who puts together all the licensing, promotion, marketing - and God knows what else! - behind the scenes… Good job, Girl! And everyone else in this crazy group who pitches in with last-minute deadlines and all the stuff that makes the Roadhouse Sons what they are “today”…

Until next time!

~ Tony Heyes

A note about the “Roadhouse Sons” from the Author…

When I first came up with the idea of the Roadhouse Sons, Tony Heyes and his band thought it would be a great idea to help bring that fictional band to life by releasing an album. Since the band in the books* were inspired, at least in part, by this real-life band, I could hardly refuse, and so Tony and the boys recorded the first CD, "Roadhouse Sons: Live at Battenkill Roadhouse" for Book One of the Roadhouse Sons series, "Dangerous Gambles," and now this "Buried Treasure" CD for Book Two, "Renegade."

At first, Tony and the boys didn’t know what to record – they didn’t want to adversely affect my vision for the Roadhouse Sons. Since the fictional band is a ‘70s rock cover band, I said, “Guys, you’re a tribute band to a cover band that never existed. Do whatever the hell you want.” That must have been the right thing to say, because they’ve had a great time bringing an extra dimension to the characters in the novels. I certainly hope you enjoy it all!

~ J. H. Sanderson
