A Grand Piano Tribute to the Grateful Dead (Remastered)

The improvisation-based music of the Grateful Dead translates beautifully to the shimmering sounds of the grand piano. Thoughtful and unique pianistic explorations of the Dead's intricate jam-based style.

Album Notes
Playing the music of the Grateful Dead is very natural for me, as I have been doing it for the last 43 years. When I play my eyes are mostly closed, and I just let the music flow through me.

These recordings were made in our home, on a borrowed 111-year-old Steinway Model O piano. About half of the music was recorded immediately after the 7/4 and 7/5 2015 Grateful Dead concerts in Chicago, when magic was loose in the world.

I hope you enjoy the CD – the music was played from the heart, live, with minimal cut-ins and no multitracking.
