Album Notes
The album concept came into being the night of the Polar Vortex in Chicago, Illinois Jan 6th, 2014, the eve of my birthday, Jan 7th. No heat in the apartment and using the oven to get warm , I started writing.............
POLAR VORTEX: A Chill piece if there ever was one.
SUPER MOON: Inspired by the event Aug 10, 2014.
SHANNON SONG: Dedicated to my girlfriend who has survived everything life has thrown at her.
SNOWFLAKED.: if you have ever been out in a snow squall where the snow was as big as snowballs!
TALKING STICKS: The Trans Siberian Orchestra was the inspiration behind this piece . Who says sticks can't talk?
PRICE OF ICE: Driving in an ice storm.
JANUARY BLUE: A leaf frozen; encased by ice.
PEACE AGAINST YOUR WILL: Nature sleeps in winter against her will.
ADRIFT. A song about feathers in the wind? Or maybe, life after retirement.
DYING TO LIVE. In honor of and inspired by my mother for her will to survive.
JANUARY BLUE. Ambient music for a soft, crisp, bitter cold January night!

The artwork by Steve Bitte shows a leaf encased in ice. We are all things of beauty held down by our emotions and life's uncertainty. The two most important days of your life are the day you were born and the day you find out why!
January Blue: You must believe in Spring!

soothing jazz
Robert Bitte has come out with his best album to date, with January Blue, a soothing set of jazz and easy listening songs. A master at creating various interesting beats, his sense of melody has finally caught up with his knowledge of percussion and it really shows on songs like the beautiful SNOWFLAKED and the aggressive sounding TALKING STICKS. All in all a very pleasant listening experience by one of the jazz worlds most promising up and coming artists!

So cool, I'm frozen blue! Robert Bitte's composing skills are reaching far and wide to the edges of the artic on the new smooth release "January Blue". Based on a chilly theme, each track conveys the serenity, peacefulness, and introspection a Midwest winter polar vortex leaves you with. In this day in age, all of us could use less stress in our fast paced lifestyle. This is the perfect music for me to chill out to during or after a long day's work, a stressful commute, or situations that need my introspection. Take a deep breath, and prepare to sit back for a cool, slick experience with "January Blue".
