Dear John

by Robert Coello

"These songs are my attempt to reveal the heart-cry from victims of the cruel world of Sex Trafficking. I consider them to be a lattice work of melodies and rhythms, interwoven with passionate lyrics that I hope will awaken and provoke the human soul.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
These songs were birthed one by one shortly after I asked God if He would ever so gently allow me to feel just for a brief second what victims of Human Trafficking feel. I wanted to return from that experience with a greater compassion and understanding about what happens on this cruel "highway". I believe that I truly got more than I bargained for, and certainly more than the price I was ready to pay. As I crafted these songs my heart was completely broken and shattered to the point that on many occasions, I was not even able to continue "performing" the songs. My heart was so swollen with a plethora of emotion as it remains today when I consider the lives of these innocent victims.

These songs are my attempt to reveal the heart-cry from victims of the cruel world of Human Slavery.
I consider them to be a lattice work of melodies and rhythms, interwoven with passionate lyrics that I hope will awaken and provoke the human soul.

I knew it was then time to begin peering into the window of organizations that are fighting on the front lines to eradicate this malady. It was shortly thereafter that I came face to face with Stella's Voice. http://www.stellasvoice.org/

here is an excerpt of her life:

Like the other girls, Stella had to follow the state mandate: once she reached the age of 16, she was given $30.00 and a bus ticket back to the town of her birth. While in the orphanage, the girls were given no training, taught no life skills, and provided with very little education. They were browbeaten. They were told no one cared, no one loved them, and that they were worthless. If they could complete the journey back to the town of their birth, who would be there for them? No one wanted them before. Who would want them now?

Once on their way, most of these unsuspecting girls are intercepted by kindly looking men or women who offer them the hope of employment, possibly as a nanny or a cook at a restaurant. Then, like so many before them, they are sold into the sex trafficking trade for as little as $1,500. Sex trafficking is the number one export of Moldova. To date, there are more than 450,000 women missing. They have been sold and shipped as far away as Saudi Arabia. These girls are often drugged, raped, and beaten into submission. It is not uncommon for these girls to be used and abused 30 to 40 times in a single day. One girl alone can make more than $300,000 for her captors.

Stella became one of these statistics. She was sold into sex trafficking and died of AIDS as a result.

It then struck me that I had to pursue having my songs produced and to use my gift and talent as a singer/songwriter to create awareness and raise support through my music for Stella's Voice and other organizations that are fighting to put an end to Human trafficking.

Aside from some "middle man" fees 100% of your purchase price of this EP will go to Stella's Voice to help them help these "beautiful slaves"

If we all fight a little we can close the highways of sex trafficking one by one by one..........

In addition please feel free to visit http://www.stellasvoice.org/ and educate yourself and learn more about Stella's Voice and maybe how you can become involved.
