ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
~~~ Review: Peter Bliss, hit songwriter, performer and producer ~~~
I met Robert Hentrich at a New York Songwriters Collective workshop two years ago. I remember him taking out a beautiful, aged Martin D35 and playing a wonderful song in a non-standard tuning. My most treasured acoustic guitar is a D35 circa the 60’s and I also favor the alternative tunings Rob uses: fingers creating all new chords while letting open strings ring. Every week, Rob would play another song in a new tuning and I thought of them as gems discovered, each a with a new story to tell.
I knew exactly how I would capture that special acoustic guitar when Rob approached me about recording and producing a collection of his songs. The songs all feature Rob’s delicate and signature guitar work and vocals at center-stage. Mandolin, banjo, lapsteel and bass found their way along with piano and percussion added to Rob’s lead and plentiful background vocals onto the 5 songs that have become the "Blue Yonder" EP. The songs and sound are warm, rich and full. The fretwork, melodies and lyrics span a lifetime and it is with great pride and pleasure that I recommend you listen and enjoy “Blue Yonder”.
~~~ Review: Paul Guzzone, member of the Bacon Brothers, hit songwriter, performer and producer ~~~
I'm sitting here listening and being completely charmed by Rob's songs and voice. Clearly he has a great love of traditional folk (English and Appalachian). I hear a bit of Donovan, S&G and Bon Iver in the sound. Lovely.

~~~ From the Artist ~~~
"Blue Yonder" is a slightly off-center, under-the-radar, collection of original songs with a distinctive vibe. Each song can stand alone in style and substance. Together the songs tell a larger story that warm the heart and lift the soul. The album presents a variety of genres coalesced into a new style. Singular, listenable and authentic, "Blue Yonder" rhythmically evokes the muse that inspired the creation of these songs. It is yours to enjoy.
