Album Notes
Robert Howard enjoys an active career as soloist, collaborator, and educator. Equally adept with baroque and modern cello, Robert performs regularly with Philharmonia Baroque, as well as New Century Chamber Orchestra and the San Francisco Symphony. A graduate of Rice University and the SF Conservatory of Music, he has worked directly with composers Gabriela Frank, Jack Perla, Jonathan Berger, and Osvaldo Golijov. He has appeared with the Left Coast Ensemble, Empyrean Ensemble, Gold Coast Chamber Players, Severall Friends, Sangam Arts, Oberlin Dance Collective (ODC), Amy Seiwart's Imagery, sitarist Arjun Verma, and the St. Lawrence Quartet. A passionate teacher, he has coached at Stanford University and the SF Conservatory of Music. He is music director of SF Civic Strings and travels regularly to Kenya, where he teaches and performs.
