Album Notes
The Second Vatican Council encouraged Catholics to sing during the Mass and sparked a new genre of Catholic folk music. Singable praise and worship songs accompanied by simple guitar arrangements sprung up all over the county. The catchy melodies and memorable lyrics swept through Catholic congregations and became forever embedded in the hearts and minds of Catholics who experienced folk Masses for the first time. For more than ten years these songs served as the core of Catholic Liturgical music. More than 40 years after the emergence of this new genre of liturgical music, many of these cherished songs are difficult to find in recordings or print.

This new collection by Robert Kochis is a revival of memorable Catholic folk songs from the 60s and 70s by Composers: Ray Repp, Joe Wise, Paul Quinlan, James Thiem, the Dameans, and more. While the essence of the songs have been preserved, Robert gives the songs a fresh sound which will appeal to listeners of all ages.
