Album Notes
Just released November 2007! "Stay Gold Sessions" from The Overdrive Superthruster, featuring Rob on guitar and backing vocals. Look for the CD here, on CDBaby (see links on the left of this page.)

In early 2002, after 132 shows, a catalog of over 100 songs, and a fast-selling CD, Won't Fall Down (Wave Records/The Orchard), with Northern Virginia's The Plunge, singer-songwriter-guitarist Rob Flowers decided to re-focus on developing a small recording studio and writing new songs. Three years later, his solo release promises to contain his best work yet. Rock guitar almost takes a back seat to pop song craft in the vein of REM, Fountains of Wayne, Better Than Ezra, Tommy Keene, Toad The Wet Sprocket, and Gin Blossoms.

The debut CD, Memory Random, was released July 5, 2005.

Flu Song, Tell Me, and Midnight Sun earned Honorable Mention in the Rock/Alternative Rock category of the 2004 Billboard World Songwriting Contest.

Tell Me and This Bag is Not a Toy are finalists in the 22nd annual (2005) Mid-Atlantic Songwriting Contest in the Rock/Alternative category. Both songs finished in the Top 5.

Sweet CD Robbie :)
I love the new tunes (and the great oldies but goodies too)! Guitar, drums & vocals sound awesome! I bought a copy for Zak & I to listen to in full length. If you ever want to visit the frozen mid-west, Zak books bands at the local watering hole near our new house & runs sound through his new PA system & board! These songs make me miss the Ferry/Flowers/Galows/Houck fam :) Hope all is well you you on the east coast! Congrats on a great job!

Honestly one of the most refreshing music I've heard in a long time. Very upbeat, progressive and over the top. Rob is going places and I encourage anyone to listen to his CD. It's outstanding - Thanks Rob for doing an outstanding job!

Good mix of Rob's old and new songs
Good mix of Rob's new songs with some of his classics, the new ones caught my ear on the first listen - especially Sitting Still, At the End of the Day, and Bruce on the Loose. Long-time fans can never get tired of Flu Song and Blown Away...

Original and Fresh. Top notch music.
This is a great creation of unique and entertaining tunes. Roll down the car windows and crank it up. Great diversity from song to song. Rob ... you have done an incredible job. I'll spread the word.

Hey Robby, Proud of you doing what you love. First song listened to had to be Sitting Still still my favorite REM song of all time.... and I love the FLowers version. Don't forget those who knew you back in college or the early working days of AT&T when you were just a regular guy at happy hour with the rest of us. I'm ordering the CD for John and I. Rock ON!

Excellent Solo Debut - 5 Stars!!!
A must listen for those who grew up with the Modern Rock era of the late 80's/early 90's. Rob Flowers keep this sound fresh with excellent new material and a few cover gems from college radio favorites REM and Tommy Keene. Superb songwriting and first rate production. Take a chance on this CD - you won't be disappointed.

Great job Rob! We love all of your songs. "At the end of the day" and "Bruce on the loose" are some of our new favorites though. We will be spreading the word about your CD to all.
