ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
'Glorious machines', the latest project by the solo, Canadian artist, Rob Grossi, was created with a heavy emphasis on musicianship and sound quality. Recorded, mixed and mastered entirely on free, Linux-based software, 'Glorious machines' is a true DIY achievement.

All songs were written by Rob Grossi, who also performed all the vocals and instruments. "Going into this recording, I wanted to push myself more into heavy rhythmic patterns and build the songs from there. Which meant having to learn how to push myself as a drummer. Drums being, of course, not my first instrument. The idea was to start simple and add complexity to see how it altered the song. In other (previous) recordings, I would always rely on the guitar for complexity and 'shape' for the songs. Relying on percussion for the overall structure of the songs was something different for me and I think it lends to the heavy rhythmic feel to the album."
