Album Notes
Rob Huffman was born in California, but raised by his Texan parents in Massachusetts. He began creating music as a child, marching in parades as a fifer with local minuteman groups. He then started to explore all styles of folk music and learned to play the whistle, flute, and mandolin.

When he picked up the guitar and started to sing his own songs, Rob infused his music with a healthy dose of humor. One of his songs, "More Than a Friend (I Need a Friend with a Truck)" caught the ear of National Public Radio's "Car Talk," who aired the song across the United States. Dirty Linen Magazine has written of Rob's "skill and taste" as a musician, and Metronome Magazine has said: "Not only are his lyrics loads of fun, but his playing is excellent to boot!"

Tone without Tension is Rob's debut CD. The Boston Irish Reporter described its unique and accessible mixture of traditional tunes and original songs as "a great musical journey and a whole lot of fun."

Rob plays at clubs, coffeehouses, dances, and festivals throughout New England.

Folk / eclectic music with a humorous bent and Celtic flavor
Rob Huffman shows his versatility on this CD: classic folk licks with a nice bit of Celtic influence to add interest and depth. His lyrics can be serious but are often ironic and downright funny. This isn't a concept album with one theme but rather a tasteful mix of different sounds and textures, some vocal and some instrumental, all adding up to an enjoyable whole. Great work!

Great Cd. Mix of Irish and country
I really enjoyed this cd. I love Irish music and this had a lot of Irish influence. Especially the whistle.

Tone Without Tension
As a Celtic and Old-Time musician, what I like about Rob's work in "Tone
Without Tension" is that he seems equally at home writing instrumental tunes and writing songs, a combination you don't often find. I look forward to future efforts!
