ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"Robin James, a lovely singer with a charming presence... has a flexible, bright soprano that reminded me a little of Julie Andrews and a lot of Madeline Kahn. In fact, from her patter and personality, it's clear that there's a natural comedienne lurking in her shimmering gown just bursting to get out... However, if she wants to go down a more formal path, she can do that too. Her French is especially impressive, with beautiful phrasing and effortless pronunciation..."
David Hurst, Show Business Weekly

Robin's second album, as eclectic as her first, spans styles and genres as diverse as jazz, Broadway, French cabaret and the American Songbook, with some delightfully wicked surprises thrown in for good measure, including "Tamara, Queen of the Nile" and "You're Outa Here," with lyrics written by Lorraine Feather to a Fats Waller piece.

Joined again by multiple MAC Award-winning musical director and pianist Dick Gallagher (whose 2002 MAC Award was for directing Robin's first solo show), Robin's musical wit, charm and style will win you over.

Robin James lives in Manhattan. In "real life" she is a graduate of Bryn Mawr College, the mother of two teenagers and a national account manager at Wilson Learning, a performance improvement and training firm.

robin superbly interweaves her musicality and love of language with humorher hum
Like her first CD, this one is a well chosen collection of love songs (broadly defined), delivered with fine musicality and refreshingly articulated diction. Her irrepressible humor acts as a welcome contrast. A thoroughly enjoyable CD! More! More!
