Resilience

by Robinlee Garber

These songs echo the brave spirits and people that I've been fortunate to work with as a creative arts therapist inside of hospitals, shelters, clinics, and schools. They also mirror my desire to grow and transcend life's challenges.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
These songs echo the brave spirits and people that I've been fortunate to work with as a creative arts therapist inside of hospitals, shelters, clinics, and schools. They also mirror my desire to grow and transcend life's challenges. As you listen, I hope that the themes resonate and inspire you to reflect and celebrate your own ability to choose resilience instead.

Fortified wine
Recently, an Armenian Orthodox Bishop poured just a touch of his homemade fortified dark plum wine from an unlabeled bottle into my glass. The first sip was rich, deep, sweet and stung going down. "Resilience" is much like the wine and Robinlee Garber's artistry: vast, delicious, courageous. She took me by surprise when I first heard her perform live and her presence, on and off stage, is like her lyrics; confident, honest and beautiful. Robinlee's a modern trobairitz and the album ranges from the folksy "My Imagination" to the lonely "Nothing to be done" and everything in between. The best song on the album is "Vascillate" as it speaks to all of us with the clarity that only first-person life experience can bring. The title track, also a favorite, is likely autobiographical but even more so "auto-emotional", a place Robinlee compels us all to explore. If you get the chance to see a performance, don't miss it.
