Album Notes
I grew up with a family that sang - we sang to the radio or the record player or just for the sheer joy of it. Daddy played guitar while Mother and I did the dishes with my brothers joining in for the family sing-a-long. Now both my sons sing. While Jason has inherited the “ham bone” gene, Derek prefers not to be the center of attention. I wanted something to give to my sons and my grandchildren that I wish I had of my dad, who is no longer with us. I wanted to give my mom something to show how I celebrate their gift of song. And I wanted to give my husband, Carl, songs that show him how much I love him and how much his love means.
Some of these songs I have loved since I was a child and have always wanted to perform. Some were chosen because they are a joy to sing. They are mostly about love – love lost, wished-for love, love that transcends distance, and forever love. And at the end there is a happy ending in a “rainbow”.
