Love War

by Robin Yukiko

A choir girl's take on pop-rock, each song sets the stage for a different part of the psyche: sly to vulnerable, playful to moody. Lush arrangements support tasteful soprano vocals.

Album Notes
Since Robin Yukiko's debut album in 2001, she has been cultivating her sound carefully, writing her own arrangements and putting thought into every eighth note. Though wrapped in a cloak of pop/rock, the songs contain outside influences harkening back to musical theater, jazz, blues, and even Motown. With a complete lack of genre loyalty, Robin manages to give her album a hint of avant-garde, while still providing memorable hooks.

She began production for Love War in 2009 and spent four years piecing tracks together with the help of stellar musicians such as Will Kennedy (formerly of the Yellowjackets), William Ryan Fritch (film score composer and multi-instrumentalist), and Grammy nominated Cori "Fader" Jacobs.

Though the album has seen many setbacks, it ultimately made it to the finish line with the help of her dedicated fans who contributed to her Kickstarter campaign.
