This CD is practically medicinal. No kidding! I love how, in stressful situations, I listen to "Just Breathe" -- on the CD when possible, in my mind when it's all I've got -- and amazingly, the song chills me out. Like magic. My daughter's hands down favorite for funnest track is the "Blah, Blah" song. Get this CD. You'll love it!

This is music for the soul! The melodies are lilting and enchanting and foot-tapping. And the lyrics are inspired, sometimes fun and funny, and full of wisdom and depth. Inspiring and uplifting.

Get ready for an eclectic ride! This Rob Katz fellow knows how to pen a hook, and his lyrics are insightful and fun. The messages delivered through these songs are timeless. Rob Katz, if you're out there reading these reviews, well, I'm sending you a resounding THANK YOU for your artistry, and I'm requesting a follow-up CD.

This CD is so joyful that when a good friend came over and asked for help in lifting a depression, I played the CD for him. 'This is amazing,' he said, 'Listening to this, I actually can't be sad anymore.'" I gave him the CD and suggested that whenever he feels sad, he play, "Renewal" and call me in the morning."

musician and teacher
This is an excellent first effort from singer-songwriter Rob Katz, a collection of 16 originals that are joyous, moving and fun. Producer Fran Avni, a well-known and prodigious musician and teacher who divides her time between the Bay Area and Montreal, has added a real gem to her long list of accomplishments.

"Slave to the Pharoah" opens with an infectious Reggae groove and reveals the secret to breaking free from the tyrant within all of us.

"For the Sake of Father Abraham" should be heard by the entire world, but especially by Jews and Arabs. I can't think of a more timely message for our time.

"Nothing Wrong Right Now,"Just Breathe" and "Let It Go" all will save you thousands of dollars that you might otherwise spend in therapy, but are a lot more fun.

For all the "feel-good" messages, Katz is never preachy or didactic; all the songs are fun and often inspirational in a universal, post-denominational way.

"Thank the One" is one of those classic songs that should be heard and sung by every teacher and school kid. Like "Father Abraham," this song sows the seeds for a better world. In our new Obama paradigm, everything, after all, is possible.

I find myself humming and singing Rob Katz' songs and can't get them out of my mind. No more fighting in the holy lands... A great diversity of music styles, reggie, show tunes, , folk, pop, jazz, keeps this CD interesting from start to finish. Rob has a sweet voice and found some other great singers to harmonize with.

great sanity songs
I agree with the other posts here: Nothing Wrong Right Now, Blah Blah, and For the Sake of Father Abraham are my particular favorites. They capture three very different moods, but each will leave you feeling more sane and appreciative.

Learn these songs, and sing them to yourself as needed!

I've liked Rob's music for a long time and am delighted that he's put together this CD so I can play it as often as I like. As wonderful a musician as he is, I think he's an even better lyricist. His lyrics are witty, moving, deeply meaningful. My personal favorites on this CD are "For the Sake of Father Abraham," "Nothing Wrong Right Now," and the hauntingly beautiful "Among the World of Sorrows," which expresses the pain of a mother who loses her son to war.

I can't listen to this album without dancing, laughing and crying. The lyrics are a profound validation of all our lives and struggles, triumphs and frailty. The exquisite interface of lyrics, music and meaning uplifts, forgives and comforts in thoughtful and joyous ways. Nothing pretentious, just straightforward love, wisdom, social critique and humor that give us a reprieve of sanity in the chaos of this complex world. I am giving the CD as gifts for all occasions and have seen people of all ages, races, religions, sexual preferences, and nationalities moved and delighted. I love the diversity of musical genres that cull the best of the Beatles and Broadway, Bob Marley and the Blues, folk and gospel. Rob's unique vision and skill transform these elements into something fresh and unique, down-to-earth and extraordinary.

What an excellent album, beautifully produced, songs you can take with you throughout the day and year. Rob Katz transports us musically to the world we hope to create--a world of gentleness, blessings, truth and love. He chooses the style to fit the message, not visa versa. Listen and be transported!
