Album Notes
“He has the voice, looks, and stage presence, but what makes him special is how he connects with an audience. It’s a warmth that can’t be taught, and it is what makes Kevlin stand out from the crowd.”- Kate Merlino, Former Senior Publicity Manager at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts

“… a really talented singer and what a great voice!...”- Valerie Smaldone, Former On-Air Personality at 106.7 Lite FM and Imaging Announcer at 1010WINS

Brooklyn-born and New Jersey raised, Rob Kevlin grabbed hold of music at an early age and never let go. Graced with dark good looks and a big, fill-the-room baritone, “a microphone was his first and last toy,” says his mother, a former musician in her native Russia who instilled a love of music in her young son. Kevlin started to sing as soon as he could talk, belting out family favorites at parties and performing on a makeshift stage in his home to increasingly astonished friends and family. “I first realized that I had a real voice when I was in the fifth grade and the school principal pulled me aside to give me a rare compliment”.

Singing his way through childhood, often encouraged by his operatically gifted grandfather, Kevlin trained with the noted Felix Molzer (Vienna Boys Choir) at Monmouth Conservatory of Music, Nancy Evers (Broadway’s “Mack & Mabel”, “Waiting in the Wings”), and further trained with Richard Dorr from the Juilliard School.

After graduating Rutgers University, Kevlin pursued graduate studies at Seton Hall University where he earned his Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology. In addition, he decided to pursue singing more aggressively seeing if he could make it his career. “Music is how I express myself. It fills every part of my life. My life would be lacking if I didn’t pursue performing”.

Rob Kevlin has performed in notable venues in NYC such as Swing 46, the Metropolitan Room, the Master Theatre, Iguana, Davidzon Radio, and Carnegie Hall. He has graced the concert stage numerous times with virtuoso pianist Leonid Ptashka and renowed violinst, Sanya Kroitor. Rob was also honored to perform with Russian legend, Aida Vedisheva, for her Hurricane Sandy Fundraising Gala, “Come On, Support, New York, New York” from the Writers Guild Theatre in California hosted by Rachel Reenstra from ABC television and was presented with the Singing Liberty Award” for his dedication and generous support of the victims of the Superstorm SANDY on the 1st Anniversary.

His theatre credits include starring in “Jekyll and Hyde”, “The Sound of Music” at the Algonquin Theater, and performing at the Triad, where he starred in his own Off-Broadway Cabaret Theatre show, featured on “Time Out”, a celebrity international television news program broadcast in 19 countries, reaching more than 50 million people.

Rob’s radio credits include being interviewed on 87.7FM and 620AM radio. Kevlin was also interviewed by Bloomberg Television Correspondent Melike Ayan and has appeared on television on the NTV America station, MTV, VH1, and he was the International Television Trophy Winner of the USA World Showcase, which was broadcast on PAX (ION) television from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. He was also a contestant on Empire City’s “Lucky Break” on CBS’s, WLNY station hosted by radio personality Mike Ryan.

In 2013, Rob Kevlin performed with the Igor Butman Moscow State Jazz Orchestra and fell in love with the Big Band sound. His current project, “Swing Out” celebrates the great American art form of Big Band Jazz with creator/vocalist Kathy Jenkins (United States Air Force Band) and the Rob Stoneback Big Band (Aretha Franklin, Johnny Mathis, Olivia Newton John, The Temptations, Natalie Cole). Performance credits include the Middletown Arts Center NJ, the New York Hilton NYC, and “On Stage At Kingsborough”/”Bringing World-Class Performances Home” as part of the “Hot Summer Nights” series from Brooklyn, New York.
