ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Harry Tonic learned his bluesy, boozy style
of jazz piano in the saloons, barrelhouses, juke joints and brothels of the deep South.
On the piano stools next to the hard and raucous men and women who performed in these
dubious establishments, Harry watched his mother through the smoky haze as she poured
out the Great American songbook. And now, on this debut CD, after decades of honing his
craft on the chitlin’ circuit throughout Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana, Harry
croons many of the same great American standards his mother taught him along with some of
his own tunes, displaying a wry, sardonic wit and unique piano stylings.
