ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"There is an undeniable campy appeal to his ruminations" - Seven Days (Vermont's Arts & Entertainment Weekly)

"With his clever lyrics and endless enthusiasm, it's no surprise how easily he wins and audience" - Elizabeth Moisan (author of Master of the Sweet Trade, a story of Pirate Sam Bellamy, Mariah Hallet, and the Whydah)

Talk Like a Pirate is the fourth album by Rockin' Ron the Friendly Pirate, following up his 2017 Children's Album Grammy contender The Flying Pirate Circus. It sails from Folk to Rock to Pop to Nursery Rhyme. There are two thumping dinosaur songs with Tyrannosaurus RRR and Peggy the Peg-Leg-Osaurus. There’s a tale about historical figure Pirate Grace O'Malley. Potty humor appears in Pirate Party Pooper and Sink the Cheerio. Broadway can be spied off the starboard while listening to Nine Lives of Lucky and Making Waves. See Me by the Sea and Anastasia's Dance provide a quite interlude. The Ship Will Rock does just that, as does the title track Talk Like a Pirate which offers specific examples and general instruction about how to bandy like a Buccaneer.

Producer Andre Maquera (of 8084 fame) wails on lead guitar & talk box and adds deft touches of bass, banjo, and backing vocals. Tracy Wolters delivers deep, soulful vocals on many of the tracks. Fellow Smugglers' Notch Resort Entertainers "Goodtime" Charlie Rice (of Downpour fame) and Sam Averbuck sing on several songs. Very First & Only Matey April Tuck thumps bodhran, and adds folky vocals along with Annie Rheaume. The Kazakh Kids Dombra Trio adds an exoctic dash. Tara Snow flaunts her flute and penny whistle skills. Chris Dunn makes mandolin a part of the proceedings. Wendy Maquera brings her vocal pipes to the party. Other vocalists included Alivia & Bert, Chuck, Heather, Janice & Pat, Joyal & Ryan, and Ozella Mei.

The wacky and whimsical album art is by award winning illustrator Carrie Cook.
