Album Notes
Roger Flyer is a singer-songwriter and pastor from Minnesota. Since 1984, he and his wife Marnie have sung for more than a million children and adults and recorded two critically acclaimed CD's as the well-known children's duo--The Flyers. The Chicago Sun Times says: "...sheer talent...wonderful singers...genuine warmth..."

Roger has served full time as a pastor the last eight years, and now, with the release of 'songs hidden in eggs', he hopes to connect with people who have found themselves wandering in spiritual exile and those trying to find their way back home in these rumbling times. The songs explore themes of spiritual crossroads, personal responsibility, human destiny and radical trust in God. The project features collaborations with some of Minnesota's most brilliant musicians and songwriters including Joel Hanson of PFR, Ben Kyle of Romantica, legendary fiddle and mandolin player Peter Ostroushko, accordionist Dan Newton, violinist Jessy Greene of Wilco, multi-instrumentalist whiz Matt Patrick, and newcomers--The Cates.

As one prone to be "much afraid" on her way to "Grace and Glory" , for those familiar with Hannah Hurnard's "Hind's Feet on HIgh Places", We will Trust is a regular in my home, on my knees before the Father I sing with the incredible voices of the family I love and re equip for the battle of life!

Roger's "songs hidden in eggs" is one of those albums that sneaks up on you. Unassuming at first, it will leave infectious melodies in your head and a lightness in your heart. Roger weaves simple truths gently into these songs of warmth and worship.

Marnie Parrish-Siggelkow

Deep, peaceful, catchy songs. It really grows on you.

Several weeks ago, during a long solitary evening drive, I slipped the CD Songs Hidden in Eggs into my car's player. Over the next hour I listened intently to a wonderful basket of songs and was drawn into a world of joy and simplicity. Days later some of the songs would hatch again in my mind and I'd find myself humming them before realizing it. This isn't what I'd call an "strip mall" CD, a uninspiring, repetitive piece in the landscape of music. Rather, it's that wonderful, quirky little local diner you stumble onto and fall for. You love the slow food, the odd assortment of characters, and the old-world sensibility. The entire CD is worship, but the songs We Will Trust and The Kingdom of God is Within are hands down two of the best worship songs I've come across in the last several years. They're positively radiant!

Melodic and authentic, 'Songs Hidden in Eggs' resonates deeply with those on a journey of faith. Roger's lyrics are fresh, honest and hopeful. The music is brilliant.

What a collection of solid musicians!! Only good things could've come out of this discs creation. I was ministered to by both Roger's message and musicianship of this album.
