Album Notes
This has been an unusually prolific period for Rog & Glenn. Their January 2013 release, Close the Club, was the result of a weekend of musical brainstorming in 2012 that generated nearly 50 song ideas. After choosing an album's worth of material to refine and produce for Close the Club, the duo expected to go back to those original ideas and develop more for future projects. However, they decided in March of 2013 to undertake another weekend of new songwriting just for the fun of it (tired of engaging in shameless promotion), and that new material became the album Martians. Early reviews indicate that, while similar to Close the Club in some respects, Martians is also a departure for the duo -- a return to more straight-forward pop and rock song forms in contrast to Close the Club's merging of progressive rock and dance influences. Martians rocks, is funny, pensive, thought-provoking, and maintains the Rog & Glenn tradition of breaking rules and challenging musical conventions.

Glenn was a musical kid from a musical family who started making up his own songs (more like "ditties") on the piano when he was six. He began playing gigs while in middle school and hasn't stopped since. Rog also had music in his blood but managed to steer clear of the restaurant and wedding reception circuit during his youth. However, he didn't steer clear of Glenn's basement, where the two wrote their first songs together as high school students. Now, years later, they're surprising a lot of people -- especially themselves -- with inventive pop rock music they didn't always know they had in them.

The band:

Glenn Hubbard: vocals, keyboards, guitars, bass, percussion
Roger Brandon: vocals, keyboards, percussion
Jeremy Cayton: drums
Shawn Roberts: auxiliary percussion, gizmos, noisemakers
