Album Notes
‘Groove Ganesh’ is an irresistible combination of four versatile performers across several genres. Skilfully blending eastern and western sounds and rhythms, they combine the rich textures of Sitar, Indian violin and vocals with dub bass and psychedelic guitar.
‘Groove Ganesh’ also use dance beats and samples of ethnic percussion instruments. This creates a trance feel while Sean Brady (kit-drums) adds life with some laid back grooves or dance rhythms.
‘We love to mix and match sounds and styles’, admits Astra. 'If you turn out a musician, everything you ever heard will eventually come through.' ’We all bring our own language to the project’, add Nicolas and Damien. ‘While weaving our ideas in with the others we get inspired by what comes back.’
All recordings are realized and recorded on the spot with a bit of tidying up after. ‘Yep, we had to cut out quite a bit of laughing’, explains Astra. ‘It’s been a lot of fun!’
