Album Notes

Graziano started his career forming the italian rock band The Rocking Chairs in 1982 performing cover versions of rock'n'soul classic in small clubs all over Italy. The band later signed a contract with small label Ala Bianca and released their first album New Egypt in 1987. The album was received with entusiasm all over Italy and was followed by Freedom Rain in 1988 featuring a contribution from Elliott Murphy who sang lead vocals on the title track and produced the duet on the Jagger/Richards composition Wild Horses. This cooperation led Elliott producing the band's next album called No Sad Goodbyes (1990) wich, just like the follow up Hate And Love Revisited (1991), was recorded between Italy and New York City and featured contributions from noted US musicians like Robert Gordon, Bobby Bandiera, Chris Spedding, Kenny Greenberg and Ashley Cleveland. After the Rocking Chairs experience Graziano debuted as a solo artist in 1993 with an album titled Graziano Romani for Wea Italy. After touring Italy with his band Mescalero he formed the band Megajam 5 in 1996 with other noted rock musicians to play a repertoire of rock classic from the seventies era. Born as a "just-for-fun" ensamble the band was asked to record an album called Megajam 5 and lasted way more than it was supposed to receiving a special endorsment from Buddy Miles who guested on a video of the song Gipsy Eyes. After this experience Graziano formed the band Soul Drivers in 1998 with Megajam guitarist Max Cottafavi playing a blend of cover tunes and originals. In 2001 Graziano felt the need to develope his own label and produce his music and created Freedom Rain Records.Graziano felt that this move was kind of a new start of his career so decided to pay homage to his long-time hero and inspiration by publishing Soul Crusader: The Songs Of Bruce Springsteen wich contained 13 songs picked from Bruce's most obscure repertoire and received positeve reviews from all over the world. In late 2001 Graziano released his second album on Freedom Rain called Storie Dalla Via Emilia made by songs written around 94/97 that he did not have the chance to release before. The next year he completed some 90/91 demo recordings made with the band The Rocking Chairs and released the Lost And Found: Songs For The Rocking Chairs album wich includes 11 originals and cover versions of Late For The Sky and Love Reign O'Er Me. The album was well received by both public and critics and consequent touring led to the birth of his new back up band called Lost And Found Band. The good reaction to his record and new band led Graziano to release his latest album Up In Dreamland (2003) wich has been judged by his fans and the press as the most mature and beautiful of his entire career. While playing live all over Italy supporting the album Graziano has started recording a new album in january, and after 6 months of extensive work he unleashed Painting Over Rust on october 16th 2004. So much to still go on tough ... so stay in touch and rock out with us !!!
