ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Rona Yellow Robe is a Native American/ African American woman of the Cree Nation of Saskatchewan, Canada, and enrolled member of the Chippewa Cree Tribe of Rocky Boy, Montana.
Rona is a very talented singer/songwriter and Native American flute player, and known for her powerful vocal abilities, Native American flute style and heartfelt presence. It is by playing her Native American flute that she refers to as her "other voice" that she has become comfortable to share aspects of her life that are personal to her with all audiences.
Rona has received many accolades, including Best New Breath-Stage Performer at 2009 Northwest Flute Quest, 2008 RNAF Indigenous Flute Scholarship Recipient, 2009 Indigenous Artist Grant Recipient from the Evergreen State College, which she used the grant monies to create her first album, "Voice of the Trees".
Rona is accompanied by Bruce Witham who is from Tacoma, Washington. Bruce plays an array of instruments; guitar, bass, keyboards, cello, and the list goes on. Together, Rona and Bruce have created magic in taking the Native American flute "outside the box" into beautiful contemporary songs that soothe and heal the soul.
Rona Yellow Robe & Bruce Witham were nominated for Best Songwriters of the Year by the 2011 Native American Music Awards for "Voice of the Trees", the title track of the "Voice of the Trees" CD.
Rona Yellow Robe, with Bruce Witham released their 2012 CD, "The Gathering" which includes some traditional style flute playing, and opening up into "Turquoise Blues" that makes you want to get up and dance.
Taking the Native American flute to yet another level, Rona and Bruce collaborated traditional Christmas songs and produced "Lighting Our Way", Songs of the Season for your Holiday enjoyment.
"Bruce and I have made a conscious intention to not only create music for your entertainment, but also to uplift, encourage, inspire, and heal our listeners."
Listen to the Spirit within these songs and enjoy the powerful vocals, array of instruments, and the healing sounds of the Native American flute.
