ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
WHAT THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY IS SAYING ABOUT
“IN A SENTIMENTAL MOOD”

Beegie Adair, Jazz Pianist and renowned Recording Artist for Village Square Records, a Steinway Artist, and Composer says:

“Ron has a wonderful sense of harmony and is quite a fine pianist. This album is a lovely collection of some of Ron’s best ballads, both romantic and nostalgic, and it’s a great introduction to some really fine piano music. Have dinner, open a bottle of wine, sit back and relax, and let Ron put you in a mellow mood. You will enjoy this album. I do”

Roger Spencer, Co-founder and Director for the Nashville Jazz Workshop, and Bassist, says:

“Ron Browning’s style is reminiscent of several great pianists. It encompasses the intellect of Duke Ellington and the elegance of Hank Jones; the quirkiness of Thelonius Monk and the melancholy of Bill Evans. This recording shows an artist who is deep and muti-faceted. I truly enjoy this music and hope to hear more from pianist Ron Browning in the future.”

Jeff Steinberg, Pops Conductor for the Nashville Symphony and Other Orchestras, composer, arranger, and producer, says:

“Every pianist has their own recipe when it comes to the standards, and Ron’s is a delightful concoction: a little blues, a little gospel, but all jazz. But you don’t even have to own a piano to enjoy this collection. Everyone will. And my complements to the chef!”

Lori Mechem, Jazz Pianist and Recording Artist for Village Square Records, Composer, Co-Founder and Director of the Nashville Jazz Workshop, says:

“Ron Brownings cd is a blend of sheer elegance and divine style, just like the sophistication of Duke Ellington. His choice of repertoire and supreme musicality is well premiered in this cd. I am very glad to have been a part of convincing Ron to record this project and hope that you love his music as much as I do.”

RON’S STYLE

Ron is a very spirited and passionate pianist. There is something very special in his touch that soothes the soul. His harmonies are lush, his melodies are hauntingly beautiful, his improvisational interpretations of these standards have the angels singing and the devils entertained all at the same time. There is a mystique about his approach to playing in general that stops the listener and forces them to mellow, wheither or not they are lovers of jazz and even if they don’t know these tunes. It’s a beautiful experience for the listener and the experience moves beyond the music itself.

BRIEF BIOGRAPHY

A native of Vicco (Eastern KY), Ron Browning has been immersed in both performing and fine arts since childhood. Perfectly, Creative Music
This CD is awesome. I bought it when it was first released and it is timeless. I am a painter and it is the perfect partner in the studio. I also conduct painting workshops and find that this music sets the perfect mood for that as well. It is a treasure--each and every time it plays--and it has been played a lot!!

such a peaceful feeling of everything will be okay
When I have a stressful day, I fill the tub, lite candles, turn the lights off and put on this cd. In a short time I begin feeling a sense of peace (it's like taking a breath of fresh air) and suddenly I feel everything is going to be alright.

Nothing but Praise for this CD!!
What I appreciate most about this CD is that Ron sets a mood and never ventures from it. This entire musical presentation flows. How often have I had a CD set a mood and then suddenly alter it course and startle me with a change in direction. This piece of work stays true to it's original intention...a sentimental mood. I love it!
I hope that Ron will at some time grace us with a Christmas CD with the same use of thoughtful song selection and purposeful direction!
