Album Notes
The album was written and recorded over a two year period following trips to Egypt, Idaho, Northern California, and recorded in Burbank, California at Theta Sound, exept for "Fresh Gardenias" which was recorded at Ben Vaughn's studio by Kevin Jarvis, with David Raven on drums, Taras on Bass and Billie Watts on guitar. Ronee plays keyboards. She plays acoustic guitar on "Grandpa Said" and mixed it way down low. She added piano, doubling her own piano on "Unfrozen" and "Fresh Gardenias". Otherwise, everything but the backing vocals was recorded live in the studio. The band performs and records as The Mojo Monkeys and records with many successful acts. They were instrumental in bringng "One Blood" to life in the studio. Backing vocals were provided by Ronee, the band, and A. Stechyson on Aswan. Ronee produced the album. "Aswan" was written in Egypt, as was "River Nile". "Grandpa Said" was written in Idaho. The cover was conceived by the great artist Austin Young. Ronee took the photo of the Nile at Aswan and A.Stechyson took the photo of Ronee in Cairo. Siouxzan Perry did the digital on it.
