Album Notes
Root Shock's long awaited debut is finally here! Featuring material honed from years of intensive gigging, this album covers a wide range of musical ground while staying true to it's reggae-soul core. Fronted by the stunning vocals of Jessica Brown, the 7 piece band weaves musical magic with positive messages and heavy grooves. The result is uplifting engaging party music to make you dance!

Based in New York state, the band has played extensively since forming in 2012 and have supported a host of well known acts as well as headlining shows and festivals. Root Shock is right at home in front of reggae, soul, rock and jam audiences and has been embraced by them all.

Music press have been equally kind. The Syracuse Post-Standard says "If you've yet to experience Root SHOCK, you've missed out on what is surely Syracuse's premier reggae act. The six-piece kicks it old school dub style at one moment, with traditional one drop chops reminiscent of King Tubby and Bob Marley himself -- but the beauty's in the addition of lead vocalist Jessica Brown, a bona fide soul powerhouse whose acrobatic runs give the band a real edge. No wonder their name is Root SHOCK."

Root Shock's self titled debut was recorded at the world famous More Sound Studio renowned for producing heavyweight modern reggae recordings for acts known internationally. Engineered and produced by the legendary Jason 'Jocko' Randall, the album has his trademark warmth and clarity enhanced with lush and playful dub production that truly makes the material come alive!
