Walking Alone

by Rosa Lazar

A honeyed voice whose own material seems to come from the most classical style. An album which has the mellow notes of an old black and white musical.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
With her debut album, “Walking Alone”, Rosa Lazar introduces us to the rich musical scene around her. In the eleven tracks that make up the album it is clear that her musical influences are various, running from classical jazz through to the most contemporary, and including styles such as bossa nova, funk, blues and rhythm & blues. These can be heard not only in well-known numbers such as “Cry Me A River”, “St. Louis Blues” and Ray Charles’ “Hallelujah, I Love Him So”, but also in the four songs that she herself has composed. “Sad Song” and “Walking Alone” take their inspiration from the standard classics of jazz and yet sound fresh; “Daisies” and “A Place Called Harmony” are infused with a bossa nova rhythm.
