The Meeting of the Waters

by Rosemary Tuck

Colourful and striking fantasias on well loved Celtic melodies, written in a romantic style and falling between the concert hall and salon with much brilliant piano figuration, charm, and imagery drawn directly from the poetry of Burns and Moore.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Recorded in the beautiful eighteenth century concert hall in Waterford, Ireland, the birth place of composer, adventurer and virtuoso William Vincent Wallace (1812-65). 'The Meeting of the Waters' was CD of the week on ABC Classic fm, and a Holiday Choice in Musical Opinion.

"The Scottish and Irish folk song arrangements of the Celtic Fantasies are consistently diverting, full of heartwarming poetry, caprice and glitter (Chopin provides the overriding template)...also speaks volumes for the wholly winning efforts of Australian pianist Rosemary Tuck, whose ideally deft and scintillatingly assured performances have been most truthfully captured by producer/engineer Phil Rowlands..."
GRAMOPHONE MAGAZINE

"... thoroughly entertaining piano music, packed with ingenious invention and lots of good tunes, wrapped up in a constant variety of colourful harmony and imaginative keyboard writing...Rosemary Tuck plays so brilliantly and lovingly. Not to be missed!"
MUSICAL OPINION

Recorded in 2002 with thanks to the Waterford Corporation, Arts Council of Ireland, Australian Government and European Waterways.
