ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
(English below)

ROSE VAGABOND was created in 2010, upon the return of an explorative musical trip by Catherine Planet from the Magdelein Islands (Quebec) to Louisiana. She drove through the United States, soaking up areas where music is of great importance, where people carry a musical history with pride. This inspiring adventure encouraged her to explore how traditional music made its way across modernity and across different cultures, and how it incorporated the colorful expressions that can surprise one simple song.

ROSE VAGABOND consists of multi-instrumentalists who exchange fiddle, mandolin, guitar, banjo, harmonica, upright bass, kick, feet taping, voices, etc. It makes up the sound that is the band’s identity.

Members of the band are Catherine Planet (Lisa Leblanc, Dany Placard, Guillaume Arseneault, Catessim), Jean-Philippe McKiernan (Les Swompards de l’Est, Tu m’en diras tant, Picbois) Francis Marion (Belzébuth, Studio du Marais) and Hugues-Olivier Blouin (Brasser Brassens).
