Album Notes
We all find ourselves pining for the Christmases of our innocent childhood years at some point. Before "adulting" was a thing, before we became all-too familiar with disappointment, hardship, grief, and death, we were in awe of Christmas. We lived in our blissful naiveté, unaware that the Holiday would ever lose its shine. Then came life... families split, loved ones passed, friends moved away. Some become distant and bitter with regret. Some wallow in nostalgia and never fully experience the present. And some choose to remember the good stuff and let the bad fade. They reinvent a new version of Christmas that brings the innocence of their youth into the now and welcomes new tradition with open arms. What we have lost doesn't have to be forgotten, nor does it deserve a pedestal, holding a magnifying glass to our pain so that it can be mourned over and over. No, the positive memories of yesterday can add to the Holiday spirit and enrich the Christmases to come. We just have to let it.
