ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Roxy Swain returns to the Chicago music scene with their third full-length release Beneath Full Moonlight. The 9-song record will be released on limited edition vinyl and digital formats April 22nd, 2016.

Roxy Swain has once again proven that their myriad influences can develop into a cohesive and nuanced whole. With inspiration spanning the genres of soul, classic rock, power pop, dream pop, mod, and indie rock, Roxy Swain has written a mature follow-up to their critically acclaimed sophomore record Restless Hearts. Beneath Full Moonlight offers listeners an ever-changing scope of musical ideas and melodies, while staying true to Roxy Swain’s retro rock past. Roxy Swain is Jeffrey Altergott (bass, backing vocals), Chuck Harling (drums), Matt Walters (lead guitar, keyboards), and Roxy Swain (lead vocals, rhythm guitar)

Roxy Swain originally formed as a power pop quintet in 2008. After quickly assembling two widely acclaimed releases in 2009 and 2010, the band spent 2011 retooling, and reemerged with the current lineup in 2012. They began work on Restless Hearts, which was released in February 2014. Shortly after release, the record received high critical acclaim, including being named Performer Magazine’s April 2014 Vinyl of the Month, being featured by Fred Mills (Spin, Blurt) in Blurt Online, receiving a rave review in the Big Takeover, and making Walt Falconer’s “The Falcon’s Nest” list of Top-10 2014 Records.

Beneath Full Moonlight was produced by Chuck Harling (Well of Souls, Palaxy Tracks, Ellen Rosner), and recorded and mixed by Steve Witt in full analog format at Reel Recorders Studio in Chicago. The record was mastered by Bob Weston (Shellac, Mission of Burma) at Chicago Mastering. It will be released on Chicago label Spade Kitty Records.
