Jar It Up
Cleanin’ House
Rabbit Huntin’

Trying to keep cool. Trying to keep my head.
But how’m I supposed to get some corn to grow when everything I touch winds up dead?
When that violent spring, well it comes into bloom, you’ll be sinking in sap and drowning in pollen too
I’m walking on the headstones and thinking I should lay down instead

But I want it all. I want it all. I want it all to put it all in little jars.
Now say it with a drawl. I want it all. I want it all.

We got rattlesnake greenbeans creepin up the line, Some jubilee watermelon sweet on the vine
I’ve gotta keep the neighbor’s dog from digging up my yard
I’ve gotta keep the rabbits out from picking off my squash, man
I want to save every taste. Don’t want to have any waste.
But it’s hard when you’ve always got an uncle nipping off of your plate

Cause I want it all. I want it all.
In pint-sized Ball’s, I’ll save it all
Now say it with a drawl. I want it all. I want it all.

After two years living out some shed, Finally lay back down in my own bed
Cleaning House
Cleaning out my whole life, not just the dishes in the sink from last night
Cleaning house
I’m looking for my friends and myself
They tell me that there’s nobody else
Huh, guess I better clean house

Ain’t got no use for no junk in my house or in my head
Just play some blues and funk, beat that drum until it’s dead

When you’re working hard things seem to work out, but lord I’m sore inside and out
Time to clean house
Need more folks around that care about things, see their strife as opportunity
Cause all I hear is chirping and cracking seeds
I wish they’d give that gift to me

Only way to catch that rabbit, gotta keep your nose down hot on that trail
If you’ll slow down just a little bit now sugar, I’ll be your beagle dog just a-waggin’ his tail

Only way to run them rabbits, gotta turn them dogs loose to do their thang
If he don’t catch a little rabbit now and then, he might run at the gun and blow away his brain

Only way to catch them rabbits, gotta keep them dogs down with all of your might
But honey when you runnin’ with dogs, pretty soon you gonna have a dog fight

He pulled a rabbit right out of his hat. I know it wasn’t there when he started this act
He pulled a card from your ear and a coin out of space
Never seen nothing like it or the look on your face.

With a tip of the hat and a flick of the coat, he disappeared with a bang in a ball of smoke
We jumped a foot in the air! I wonder to this day. Everybody laughed but is he really ok?

Did he die? Do you think that he’s going to Hell?
It’s a deep dark place. It’s a whirlpool of flame and despair.
If we pray real hard can we keep him from the dark?
Did he get his last rites? Did you think that you could save him yourself?
No way in Hell
