ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
After decades of leadership in the business world, Roy Sunstrum has brought his songwriting to the public. This album contains music written over four decades, with a strong mix of influences from artists as diverse as CCR, Mumford & Sons and Hank Williams. The result is a diverse and interesting collection. Like many artists, some of these songs have deep personal roots, but ones that many will resonate with.

JP Cormier, award winning multi-instrumentalist from the East Coast of Canada produced the album and contributed absolutely top-notch instrumentals featuring several guitars, mandolin, dobro, and other stringed gems. Some of the songs really tugged at JP's heart strings and we hope the same will happen to you.

Special notes regarding a few of the songs and their origin:
- Many of the lyrics from Black and White originated during a snowmobile trip in Northern Ontario. When you snowmobile for a week, you have a lot of time alone in your helmet. :)
- You Know that Old Song was motivated by a comment by my brother in law during an ice fishing trip a few decades ago. He said to me "People always say....You know that old song....you know the one I mean? and suggested I write a song based on that". It has resulted in a song that is true classic country.
- Kichesippi Blonde is based both on the historic fact that the Ottawa river was once known as the Kichesippi river, and the launch of the Kichesippi Brewery. The first time I had their Kichesippi Blonde ale, I thought....there's a song in there.
- The Shame might be the strongest production on the album. JP outdid himself with layers of strings and harmonies.
- Three Voices is the most personal song, but one that anyone that might just value their hearing over their sight can relate to, especially if there are people in their life that have played special roles in influencing their music. Those are my 'three voices'.

Please enjoy and spread the word about this album! Physical CDs coming soon...
