Album Notes
"At This Stage" is the fourth cd by Round the House, and the band's first live recording. It captures the spontaneous energy of a festival performance with the added polish of studio engineering. With a solid base of traditional Irish tunes and songs flavored with traces of the group's American accents, Round the House offers a sampling of "nouvelle cuisine for the Irish music listener". The band's instrumentation features fiddle, mandolin, guitar, bouzouki, bodhran, plus vocals. Professionally recorded and produced, the cd aptly captures the tight arrangements, nuance, energy, and chops that the band brings to every performance. For more information visit:

Dave Firestine: Mandolin, Octave Mandolin, Bodhran, Vocals
Dave's powerful and precise melody playing, combined with moments of unfettered syncopation and improvisation are highlighted on this recording. His charisma and comic timing are irrepressible on his two songs.

Claire Jamieson Zucker:
Vocals, Bodhran. Letting the songs be the guide, Claire's clear tone and dynamic vocal delivery beautifully convey both the stories and emotions of her songs . Her clean, well honed bodhran playing give rhythmic spunk and drive to tunes.

Sharon Goldwasser:
Fiddle. Leaning into melodies with rolls and variations, Sharon's fiddling adds traditional depth and texture on dance tunes. Her fine subtle backing and gift for soaring breaks in songs are highlights .

Mark Robertson-Tessi: Guitar, Bouzouki, Mandolin
Mark's exceptional chops are highlighted on this album as he and Dave synch up on several of sets. His unique chord choices, inventive rhythmic approach and ability to alternate between melody and accompaniment are stellar.

When not on tour, Round the House plays in Tucson Arizona, where they are 6 time winners of regional band awards as well as have numerous nominations and awards for individual instrumental and vocal performances.

Lively fiddle-driven tune sets...natural unforced soprano... Commendable --- Dirty Linen

Obvious chops and sheer talent...knowledgeable and insightful enough to adapt songs to make them truly their own, while still demonstrating a reverence for the music's heritage ...Tucson Weekly

Equally strong in both song and tune repertoires... if you like your Irish music handled delicately and sensitively without losing either its enthusiasm or its essential sense of momentum, Round The House will be a "safe home" for you.   --- David Kidman, Lewisham, England

Flying solos on all those up-tempo jigs and reels...just crank up the CD player and feel the spirit!
...Tucson Citizen

Open arrangements, superb playing, and great choices of material.-- Tinsmith

The style in which they perform brings a fresh air to the stage or stereo.    --- Ceili magazine, Southwest Celtic Music Association, Dallas Texas

The instrumentals are crisp and lively. Claire's voice has a lilting authentic quality.---Black Rose Acoustic Music Society, Colorado Springs, CO

A stellar job at focusing on instruments and showing them off, sounds rising, then falling as another takes the center stage. A lot of variety as well as great musicianship and energy. Lovely. --- Celtic mp3 Magazine
