ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Rudi was born in Kempton Park (near Jo’burg) in South Africa. He grew up in a small town as part of a musical family, with the father singing opera and the mother playing clarinet and piano, and the brother doing kick boxing… ahem.

He got his first acoustic nylon string Yamaha guitar at age 12 (or something). He realised that rock stardom was awaiting him when his brother introduced him to Bon Jovi’s “New Jersey” and Def Leppard’s “Hysteria”. About a year later, when his dad heard him screaming along to Judas Priest, he decided to rather teach him how to sing. It didn’t take long before Rudi wrote his own songs.

After high school, he moved to the big city (Jo’burg) to follow his dreams, and wrote/performed for several bands, but none of the band members ever stuck around long enough for anything to be achieved. Years later, after a long break from gigging, but not his first love, songwriting, Rudi decided to take to the stage on his own with just his voice, guitar and sense of humor. This actually went quite well, and also landed him a few corporate gigs, as well as opening for some known (in SA) acts. This, however, has taken a backseat for a while since Rudi tried out fatherhood, which has been his greatest adventure yet.

So in conclusion: No accolades, no bands, no tours. Just a few damn good songs, of which “Sunrise” will be the first for digital release soon, so watch this space!
