Album Notes
Rudy Peirce, MA, a certified yoga teacher since 1982, is a perennial student of the yoga of life. He is devoted to approaching the practice of yoga as an exploration. Dedicated to making yoga accessible to those who may feel they are inflexible, weak, broken or over-the-hill, he offers Gentle Yoga programs regularly at Kripalu Center in Lenox, MA and yoga vacations to Costa Rica and Tuscany. A faculty member of the Kripalu School of Yoga, he has been a yoga teacher trainer since 1988.

The intention of this 3rd Gentle Series CD is to offer options for brief periods of practice when time is limited. I\'ve always loved the full experience of a 90 minute class. So it was an interesting challenge that birthed this CD:
At the end of an inspiring Gentle Yoga weekend retreat, a student asked, \"Rudy. If you had just 15 minutes for your yoga practice, what would you do?\" Well. Is there any benefit to such a short practice I thought? Then, I experimented for a while. I had a life-changing discovery. I felt great after short periods of practice. Similar benefits to longer practice. I felt stretched out and more comfortable physically. The grumpies had been quelled. Irritation and annoyance had been integrated. And I felt mentally clearer, crisper.

So, I proceeded to develop the sequences that covered the essentials, that felt thorough, complete, and covered the basics the best.
What emerged was 2, brilliant 20-minute sequences.

That left me with more time on the CD. It seemed like offering a 20 minute guided meditation was the best use of the time, rather than a 3rd posture sequence.
Meditation is the culmination of my practice. It is where I feel I achieve that extra bit of freedom from the confusion going on between my ears.

So, this CD offers options. You can practice any one of the 20 minute sequences. Either 20 minutes of yoga or 20 minutes of meditation. And I designed it so that you can practice all three in sequence and you get a wonderful, complete 60 minute yoga class.

It took a while to get this CD out. So, it is with great pleasure that I now offer this gem to you. And here\'s the first review I\'ve received on it since it released.

Yeah! Here it is.

Annette, a yoga teacher from Minnesota writes:

Dear Rudy, I just finished practicing with Gentle III, and it was AWESOME --absolutely wonderful! I felt very resistent to practice tonight, so I figured I could practice the first 20-minute segment without too much fatigue...
Well, from there I ended up practicing the entire cd, including the meditation segment!
Rudy, it was just like being back at Kripalu in the Sunset Room again! The second segment was ideal for coaxing a little effort from me; melting underneath that doorway of resistence! I will wholeheartedly recommend all 3 cd\'s to my students and will hopefully need to re-order in the near future! -Annette-
