Album Notes
..... Since Windham Hill emerged in the mid-70's there have been an unprecedented number of guitar recordings released. It's consequently become nearly impossible to create something in that genre which is truly original and even unique. Rudy Perrone manages to accomplish this with apparent ease in The Language of Spirits. Using a raft of different guitars and guitar-like stringed instruments, Rudy offers an astounding range of instrument textures and musical styles while somehow never loosing the singular voice which is so distinctively his. This is an achievement of performance skill and compositional inventiveness to be sure, but these are not mere academic experiments; this is music of the heart and it connects on a profound level. That players like Michael Manring and Glen Velez are part of this creation only add to the remarkable impact offerred in The Language of Spirits. Will Ackerman Windham County, Vermont _____***** RicMan/Review May 15,2007 - "The Language of Spirits" - This is a wonderful CD, by a great acoustic guitarist. The compositions are also first rate. The tracks range from solo acoustic guitar to larger arrangements that include cellos, bass, percussion, oboe and English horn. The sound quality, recording and mastering, is incredible. It has to be heard to be believed!
I've followed Rudy's career for many years. He's one of the finest guitarists ever to have come out of the NY area. He was an integral part of the legendary progressive band Cathedral, and also a key member of Industry during the '80s (the fledgling MTV played their video constantly).
This CD was produced by Will Ackerman, the founder of Windham Hill Records. It follows closely in that vein of music. It's very "open" and clear sounding, without the clutter and over-production that is so prevalent today. There isn't a bad track on the album. My personal favorite is "Arrows"... but you have eleven to choose from, so... what are you waiting for? Pick your own!
Great album!_____

Stand still before a fireplace
The album which showed the good point of the studio. I feel warm warmth.I purchased it by an Ackerman guide, but it seemed to be Windham Hill and was very good. The height of the quality of Imaginary Road Studio seems to emerge for a sound, too. I seem to right hear the vivid sound quality in front of eyes. The anthology that a heart feels at ease.

there is so much music in the world that is easy to forget that it is at times also art. This album quickly reminded me that some music, is indeed art.
