ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Nowhere Close is the highly anticipated follow-up to Dirty River by long- time band leader and guitarist for Mary Margaret O'Hara, Rusty McCarthy. This record is an eclectic mix of 17 intelligent and refreshingly crafted songs ranging from Neil Young inspired driving rock to twelve bar swing all supported by a jazzy bedrock. The journey starts in Motown and quickly swings east to Boston for the title track- Then cuts down through the delta dredging gravel along the way, making a bluesy stop in New Orleans before jumping a boat to Havana for the flamenco inspired Man in the Moon. McCarthy has proven once again his talent as a songwriter/ composer and solidifies his place as one of the best guitarists Canada has to offer. Nowhere (close) is that more obvious than this record; He has confirmed once and for all that international recognition is long overdue.
