Album Notes
Ryan has been writing and performing original music since he was about 14 years old, after being involved in musical productions such as the opera Tosca, performed at the Angus Bowmer Theatre in Ashland, Oregon, and in the First Annual Northwest Children's Honor Choir, which performed at the Hult Center for the Performing Arts in Eugene, OR. He has played as a solo act and with bands all across the US.
Inspirations are vast, including artists like Radiohead, Mos Def, Tool, Counting Crows, PJ Harvey, Thelonius Monk, Modest Mouse, Pearl Jam, and Tori Amos. He writes and produces many genres of music, but consistently returns to the rootsy side of things, folk and indie rock being his major passions.

Ryan's debut album, Bagdaddio, was called, "...stunning in it's breadth, maturity, and complexity..." by Mac McDonald of the Monterey County Weekly.

His second album, My Fair February Notable Shimmer and Grin, was named "Best Folk Album International" in 2007 by Toronto Exclusive Magazine.

Vermillion, Ryan's third release, was described as "tender, powerful songwriting" by John Popper, Grammy winning front man for Blues Traveler.

Ryan's 4th release, Mordred the Quarter Known, "will grab your attention and hold it all the way through to the end" according to Skope Magazine.

The latest album, More Than Strangers, is a beautiful collection of old and new songs. This album blends soaring melodies and creative instrumentation with the simple poignancy of well written words. Written, performed, and produced by RDO, this album is not only his personal favorite, but is a vivid look inside the heart and soul of the artist.
