Album Notes
Sacred Fire is creating a new genre of music honoring Earth, celebrating Spirit, and illuminating the Divine Feminine in all, with creative and lively arrangements that integrate the Choir’s rich, spirited sound with a full and energetic band.

Ignite! is the Choir’s first studio-recorded album, an inspired and inspiring collection of songs written by members of Sacred Fire and their Conductor/Arranger, Pamela Gerke, and by celebrated artists of earth-centered and feminine-centered spirituality including: Shawna Carol, composer of Goddess Chant and her newly released Gaia Rocks; Z. Budapest, well-known Wiccan author and Priestess; Abbi Spinner McBride, popular singer/songwriter in goddess and Earth-based spirituality circles; and Linda Hirschhorn, composer and performer of feminine-oriented Hebrew and other spiritual songs and chants. Ignite! also includes a tune by nationally famous blues artists, Susan Tedeschi, Derek Trucks and Kofi Burbridge.

Rising star of goddess music, Kellianna, is a featured soloist on the album, on Shawna Carol’s “Sanctify.” (Music by both Kellianna and Shawna Carol are available on CDBaby.). Original songs and arrangements by Conductor Pamela Gerke include her “trans-faith” arrangement, “Holy Comparsa!”, a rap about the power of choice and reincarnation, "Earthquakes of Power," and the Choir’s signature song, an invocation of the directions, “Thank You, Mother.” In addition to the uptempo numbers on Ignite! the album also includes two lush. slower-tempo ballads: Shawna Carol’s anthem to the earth, “Bless Our Planet,” and Patty Zeitlin’s gorgeous reflection on the power of love across time, “Long Ago, Right Here.”

This is a collection of songs that truly ignite the power of the rising feminine energy on earth!

Sacred Fire, now in their seventh year, is a Seattle-based community choir that includes women and men singers. The Choir was born through the creation of performances of music and theater at the annual Women of Wisdom conferences in Seattle ( and is now the “house choir” of the popular Gaia's Temple Goddess Worship Services with Rev. Judith Laxer in Seattle (

In their live performances, Sacred Fire is accompanied by local drumming favorite, Simone La Drumma ( and by Kathy Sestrap on piano, Ciela Acosta on accoustic bass and various guest musicians, including violinist Eric Chappelle and guitarist James Howard.

Sacred Fire has also published a songbook of original music, Fire Dance – Songs of Spirit and Community. This book has 22 original and well-loved songs by members of the Choir, songs to celebrate living and loving on Earth and honoring the Wheel of the Year and the Feminine Aspect of the Divine. Each song includes melodies, chord symbols and lyrics, and the book also has composers' bios and notes about the songs. To order, see:

Town Hall Performance
Tonight I had the pleasure of hearing the Sacred Fire Choir, as they opened for Marshall Rosenberg . It is the first time I have heard of this group, and I loved their style. They sang 2 very heartfelt songs. I bought their CD ! I had to hear more. Great group.

Loved It! Makes me want to dance in the sunlight.
I really enjoyed this CD. The arrangements were excellent and the sound is inspiring. I had heard Behold, There is Magic, on Contract Radio and had to find out who was singing this powerful piece. After finding the website I ordered the CD and was expecting to only like the one piece, but I was pleasantly surprised. The first piece, Holy Comparsa!, makes me want to dance in the sunlight. Can’t wait to hear more from these people.

Incredible Sound
While attending a lecture given by Marshall Rosenberg, I heard this lovely group, as they performed prior to the lecture. Their very brilliant outfits matched their equally brilliant voices. The music they sang was strong with real emotion . Where has this group been for so long that I have never run accross them before. So glad I did now.

Great CD
Where has this wonderful group been ? I heard a friends CD in her car , and asked... Who is this group ? I went to their CD release Concert and had a great evening listening to all of the talented preformers . What an incredible sound. Very nice variety of music. Goddess, Nature,Spiritual, sort of New Age all in one. Really a nice new sound.

WOW what a Great CD
What a power packed CD . I have not heard anything this good in many moons . A great variety of styles of music too . So good I wish they were standing in front of me so I could see the same joy in their faces , as I hear in their voices . I am so glad to have run across this group of very talented performers.
