ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
SacredFire is Marie Josée Vermette (MJ) & Dean Richards — Canadian Worldbeat Sound Healing Artists who travel the globe, igniting spirits and bringing a sense of grounding & deep peace with their interactive Music Medicine Concerts & Workshops.
“Absolutely one of the most outstanding things I have ever experienced! It’s something you’ll never forget!”
proclaimed BBC Radio 2’s DJ legendary Johnnie Walker after a SacredFire concert on their 2012 UK tour.

The mystical & timeless music of SacredFire is an elixir for the body-mind-heart & spirit. The effects are meaningful and profound; induced by raw, ecstatic, intuitive chanting & drumming and expansive, modern soundscapes with a twist of worldwide traditional influences. SacredFire use musical expression as an empowering tool, to create a sense of wholeness and well-being & build pathways between humans and their ancestral inner wisdom.

Mj and Dean were brought together on a stage in the town of Squamish, British-Columbia (Canada) in 2010, where they improvised a breathtaking drumming performance before they were even introduced to each other. Since then, the two have joined as SacredFire, performing & touring in France, Germany, Mexico, Canada & the US, and have mesmerized audiences with their transformative concerts & workshops in large-scale wellness events such as Dr. Deepak Chopra lead retreats in California & the West Coast of Canada.

In 2011, they released Rising, an a cappella chants & drums EP with fervent authenticity and tang.
In 2014, they birthed Journey to Infinity, a Music, Mantras & Meditations double album with leading meditation master davidji. The collaborative CD is a shamanic vocal & rhythmic ballet, fused with heart-opening, lush spoken word.

In September 2015, SacredFire released their new album, Continuum (the remixed songs from Journey to Infinity). Inspired by the 5 elements of Space, Air, Fire, Water and Earth, Continuum merges soothing, lyrical vocals with Worldbeat & progressive rock influences - a soul stirring, "refreshing uplift" for the new age.

Continuum features prominent guest musicians such as Gilad Atzmon (Pink Floyd, Paul McCartney, Sinéad O'Connor) John Turnbull (Bob Geldof, Eurythmics, Ian Dury & The Blockheads, World Party, Talk Talk) and Hans Christian (Robbie Robertson, Krishna Das) and has been mastered by Ronan Chris Murphy (who worked with King Crimson, Robert Fripp and Tony Levin).
