Album Notes
Saki sings, as well as writes and arranges music. She also loves to write and translate lyrics to English/Japanese. She lives in San Francisco Bay Area. She travels to Japan and perform clubs in Tokyo and other metro area. She has been visiting Tohoku area since 2013 to perform and provide workshops. This album is dedicated to the people whose lives were interrupted by the unimaginable natural disaster of the 2011 Earthquake/Tsunami in Tohoku, Japan. Included are some tunes she sang during the Tohoku charity tour with Akira Tana and Otonowa in 2013-2015. The rebuilding process from the damage is very slow and much work is still in progress, but she said she has received a lot of energy from those who are working hard towards their future.
As Saki says, "I’m very fortunate to be able to record this album with Akira Tana and Otonowa, who also contributed to arranging some tunes. I have compiled my favorite Japanese songs, including some from my childhood. I have arranged and translated the songs (some from Japanese to English and some vice-versa), just for fun, and to be able to share them with everyone."
